A stunning hat from the late 1920s to 1930s. The straw crown and brim was blocked on two vintage hat blocks from the 1920s. It has a deep crown with large brim at the front and smaller at the back. The entire hat is hand sewn, with green fabric edging. Only the band and decorations have machine sewing. The fabric flower and spirals are in classic Art Deco colours of purple, greens and oranges, making it perfect for wearing at the Art Deco Festival in Napier. Inside the hat is a hand-sewn cream petersham ribbon.
Fits a small to medium head size: 21 1/2" or 55cm to 22 1/2" or 57cm.
